Wellbeing provision
At Hucknall National Primary School, we place our wellbeing provision at the forefront of what we do. We understand that the emotional and mental health of our students plays a pivotal role in their overall development and academic success. To this end, we strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment where children have the opportunity to learn about managing their feelings effectively and positively engaging with their peers.
Our approach to wellbeing incorporates a variety of initiatives designed to promote emotional intelligence and resilience among our students. These opportunities may take the form of specialised workshops, social skills groups, and mindfulness activities, all tailored to enhance the children's ability to navigate life's challenges. The importance of these experiences cannot be understated, as they foster not only a sense of belonging but also equip each child with essential life skills that will serve them well beyond their primary education. We pride ourselves on providing a safe and nurturing environment where each child can flourish

Inside Out Day: Empowering Young Minds
Inside Out Day provided an invaluable opportunity for our children to engage in open discussions regarding their emotions. This initiative allowed us to educate our children on the significance of emotional intelligence and the essential skills associated with managing one's feelings effectively. By fostering a safe and supportive environment, we encouraged children to express their thoughts and experiences, thereby reinforcing the importance of understanding emotions in their daily lives.
Throughout the day, we organised various workshops focusing on mental health awareness and practical coping techniques. These sessions were designed to equip our students with the tools they need to navigate their emotions. One of the highlights was the breathing techniques workshop, where children learned simple yet effective methods to calm their minds and centre their thoughts. This not only enhanced their understanding of mindfulness but also provided them with skills they could incorporate into their everyday routines.
We took the opportunity to allow our students to 'Pause, Live, Reflect'. This practice is integral to our spirituality curriculum, as it encourages contemplation and personal growth. By incorporating reflection into their day, students were able to assess their emotions and experiences more critically, thus nurturing a sense of self-awareness that will serve them in their future endeavours.
