The Summer Term marks our final term of the year — and of primary school. We would like to congratulate all of Year 6 for successfully completing their SATs; they approached the assessments with maturity, determination and resilience, and we are incredibly proud of each and every pupil.

Our summer topic is Apartheid and the life of Nelson Mandela. In History, pupils will explore the significance of the apartheid protests and consider how these movements have influenced modern society. Our Geography learning will focus on the biomes of South Africa and include practical orienteering work. In Art, pupils will study protest art and create expressive collages, while DT will complement this by designing and producing effective banners using computer‑aided design.

In Computing, pupils will learn about networking and develop skills in 3D modelling, while our Online Safety curriculum will focus on managing online information and online relationships. In Science, pupils will study evolution and inheritance, building a secure understanding of how traits are passed on and how species adapt over time.

As we approach the end of the year, there is much to look forward to: our final Sports Day, the end‑of‑year performance, and our Leavers’ Church Service, to which parents are warmly invited on 21st July.
