In Summer 2 of our 2025-2026 academic year, the students and staff and Hucknall National Primary School enjoyed a week inspired by The Arts. We allocated this time to celebrate wider curriculum subjects, emphasising their importance in our students' development. 

We enjoyed lots of different activities during this week. We dedicated lots of time to preparing Art work in our year groups, ready to showcase it at the Summer Fayre to the rest of the school and parents. Each year group showcased a piece of artwork from their curriculum from each child, either making a collaborative project, or celebrating each individual child as an artist. We also partook in a whole school collaborative project titled 'One Team, Many Colours'. This piece of artwork was in celebration of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, shaped like the Jules Rimet trophy. Each class received 3 pieces of the trophy and were each assigned selected countries from the participant teams and decorated their segments in the colours of the flags. All 48 countries were incorporated, and the outcome was a beautiful creation that the children enjoyed discussing with their parents and peers. 

Miss Richards also held an 'Art Club for All'. This was additional to weekly lunchtime 'Art Club' slots, where every child was given access to continuous provision styled Art resources. Each class was given a slot and enjoyed getting messy with paints, chalks and oil pastels. The brief was to create something 'dotty'...and the children did not disappoint! It was wonderful to see the children come to life with creative flair and talk proudly of what they made, as well as engrossing themselves in sensory play with paints.
