Growing together in learning, love and faith

Welcome

Sarah Barratt

Headteacher, Hucknall National C of E Primary School

Welcome to Hucknall National C of E Primary School. I hope you enjoy looking at our website and finding out about our Christian school.

My name is Sarah Barratt and I am the Headteacher at our Church school. We are a busy, friendly school set right in the heart of Hucknall in Nottinghamshire. Our mission statement is, "Growing together in learning, love and faith", where we prioritise the education and achievement of every individual child in a caring environment, guided by Christian values. Our Christian vision is theologically rooted in the ethos that we enable all pupils and adults to flourish through experiencing "Life in all its fulness." (John 10:10)

During their time at Hucknall National, the children are given the opportunity to study a range of subjects which include English, Mathematics, Computing and Science. Foundation subjects, such as History and Geography, are delivered in a knowledge-rich, creative curriculum to provide an offer that is both broad and ambitious. Our curriculum is enriched and exciting and is certainly well received by the children who study it. This is an area that we are continually working on to improve and we are extremely proud of all the opportunities and experiences that our pupils encounter at our school.

As a Church of England school, we have strong links with our Church community, especially our local parish, St Mary Magdalene Church. We strive to strengthen community links and we pride ourselves on the overwhelming support we have from our community and families. We know that through these partnerships we will ensure that everyone is committed to our drive towards excellence.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. I would encourage you to visit us to experience our wonderful school first-hand; please contact the school office and I would be delighted to show you around our Christian school.
